Ace Frehley, also known to fans as "Space Ace," the founding lead guitarist of Kiss, has passed away at the age of seventy four. Frehley suffered a fall in his studio last month which forced him to cancel upcoming shows, and suffered a bleed on the brain as a result. Earlier today, numerous sources claimed he was in intensive care and that family members were weighing up whether to remove his life support. It has now been confirmed that they did so, and the rock star passed away a few hours afterwards. A statement from his family reads as follows: "We are completely devastated and heartbroken. In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth. We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others. The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!" Frehley was the final founding member to join the band which would soon become Kiss. He would go on to perform on all their albums from their eponymous 1974 debut until 1981's "Music From The Elder," though he was credited on the following release, "Creatures Of The Night." He would later rejoin the band in 1996 and perform on the album, "Psycho Circus," before parting ways with the band once more in 2002, returning to his solo career and releasing his third album, "Anomaly" in 2009.
