HMB´S REVIEW
Graveyard Winds delivers a strong and heavy death metal record that hits hard from start to finish. The guitar tone is gusty, powerful, and constantly pounding the music forward. The riffs are direct, and aggressive, giving the album a steady momentum all the way.

The drumming is orthodox and solid. It doesn’t impress with technical showing offs, but instead builds a solid foundation that fits the music perfectly. Together with the bass and the layers of guitars, the sound becomes dense and powerful.

The vocals are guttural, meaty, and brutal. At times they take on a cavernous quality, leaning toward traditional death metal but with a darker, heavier presence. The vocal performance stays strong throughout the entire album.

There are also from my point of view clear doom influences here, mixed with a sense of cosmic horror and a funeral-like tone. These touches add atmosphere without taking away the core death metal sound. The lyrics feesl poetic in places, contributing to the darkness character of the album.

From start to the end, the guitars, drums, and vocals remain consistent in strength and intensity. Nothing drops off, nothing loses focus.

If you like death metal, you will dig this album. Simple as that.

A standout track for me is “The Heavens Were Cursing My Destiny" I also beliecve this is the single. This is a brutal death metal song that blends traditional elements with something slightly more modern. It uses two vocal styles, a lot of drum beats, strong guitar riffs, and includes a guitar solo. A line from the song where you can hear the poetic style is “Whispering and thundering bursts echoes reached my ears as if the heavens were cursing my destiny”, this captures the feeling of the track. For me this song shows the variation, brutality and complexity the band is capable of.

The album cover is dark and misty, matching the cold and heavy mood of the music. It gives a clear sense of decay and atmosphere before the album even starts, and fits the band’s death-metal style well.

A small weakness in this is that in some tracks they show some lack of variation, making a few of them blend into each other, same but different kind a way.

What am I left with after listening to the album ? A sense of fullfillness, an understanding. I think I know what they want, and it is good. I feel the thought beheind the album and it works. I think this album fits anyone who is in to that oldschool traditional death metal, and not so focused on technology but rather pure music.
