Abandon
HMB´S REVIEW
I had never heard of this band before , so i didnt know what to expect, but the album opens with We Vanish to Nothing, immediately grabbing my attention with blend of shoegaze-inspired soundscapes and underlying black metal energy. The vocals is steady throughout the track, and when the clean vocals merges with the rock elements, it's like a new dimension opens up.
Two tracks stands out for me , This Great Demise and Like Moths . This Great Demise is emotional and powerful, with melodic elements adding depth and variety. Like Moths starts quietly and gradually builds up to a dramatic, gripping finale, with a midsection that perfectly contrasts the underlying sense of desperation. These tracks demonstrate the album’s ability to balance atmosphere and intensity togheter.
The production for me is solid and balanced , explosive blast beats and tremolo riffs , combined with beautiful, melodic elements that provide variation and depth. Abandon delivers a solid but varied album , that shows their skill in mixing atmospheric and emomotions. The album has already earned a permanent spot on my playlist and i am exited for their next release.
The album cover is black-and-white with dark mountains and dramatic clouds, maybee to reflect the dark and atmospheric sound , you can also feel som desperation and melancholy from this picture.
