HMB´S REVIEW
The album Abyss by Ad Infinitum marks a significant evolution compared to the band’s previous work, which was known as "Chapter" I through III. While the earlier albums emphasized symphonic elements, Abyss explores more modern and experimental territories. The band, led by the talented vocalist Melissa Bonny, incorporates elements of progressive rock and electronic music. The album combines "pop-rock-heavy" elements with scattered growls throughout the tracks and even features aggressive passages with breakdowns.

As I mentioned before, Unlike the previous albums, Abyss does not place symphonic elements in the spotlight but uses them to complement the compositions. Tracks like 'My Halo' and 'Outer Space' exemplify this new approach, with the latter starting with harsh vocals and quickly shifting to more melodic tones. The songs blend experimentation with dense atmospheres, featuring catchy choruses that grab the listener’s attention. 'Surrender' stands out with its strong beats and variation in speed and intensity, offering a dynamic experience.

Abyss also marks the beginning of a new album trilogy for Ad Infinitum, following the Chapter I-III series. After Abyss, the band plans to release Surface and Elysium. This album is definitely a must-listen for fans of modern and experimental metal.
